#38

Okay so this week has been fun and incredible and CRAZY.

So first off I´m training. I don´t know why but I am haha. No, I´m super excited! I´m nervous but I know it´ll all be good. I´m going down to Málaga tomorrow to the mission home to be trained on being a trainer, and it´s nine hours by bus to Málaga, (so over the next week and a half i´ll be on a bus for about 36 hours haha) and I´m so excited to go back to the mission home to see President Deere and the other missionaries! I´ve heard that there are four hermana´s coming in, and one´s from Norway and i think the other´s are from the USA. But we´ll see. Pray for me i´m feeling a little inadequate right about now haha.

Also we had our other mini missionary and it was AMAZING. We had so much fun, and she doesnt speak much English so it gave us a good opportunity to speak Spanish more than we usually do in the piso...haha. And she is 25 and so cool and had so many questions and it was just fun. Also she taught us how to make tortilla de patata which is basically the best thing in the entire world.

We saw some serious miracles during the last week!

So there´s a family that lived here, and they still have a house here but they live in Germany right now for the dad´s work, but they were here and they invited us over to have a family home evening and dinner with our investigators, Ventura and his son Adolfo. This is the same guy who I was talking about last week who called us and asked us to come over and was really anxious to take the lessons again. Well anyway, we´ve tried setting a baptismal date with him several times, but every time he gives excuses and says he wants to learn more and basically no for now.  Well last week, as we´re sitting there eating he´s like, ´´I have a surprise for you guys.´´ And i was just like sort of listening, and then he was like, ´´I am going to get baptized this month.´´ And then we were just like, freaking out inside but just calmly trying to congratulate him and tell him he´s doing the right thing, but then he told us he still didnt want a fecha and he thinks his nine year old son isn´t ready yet.  So anyway, a few days later we had another lesson with his and taught him the gospel of Jesus Christ, and we talked about how we wanted to set a fecha (baptismal date) with him.  He agreed to the 13th of SEPTEMBER. This weekend! The baptism is at 10am and we´re so excited!  But really, his son knows WAY MORE than I knew when I got baptized, so I know he´s ready, so we talked about it, that same night, and he was like, ´´Alright Adolfo it´s up to you. It´s your decision.´´ and he wants to get baptized too! So yeah, they´ll both be baptized this Saturday and we are pumped. Really, Ventura is incredible.  The other night we had a lesson with him, and afterwards we found out that his home country, the Dominican Republic had been playing some historic fútbol game during our lesson (a lesson where we just taught the ten commandments which claro he already knew), and he missed the whole thing! Literally like, the last time this kind of game happened had been like many many decades ago! We felt so bad but he told us, ´´You have to learn to put the most important things first.´´ That was a really good lesson for me. I am just amazed by the people out here, they have such great faith, and they teach me so so much everyday.

Also, I went on an intercambio and I got to go spend a day in Alicante! It was fun! I went with Hermana Blake, and she´s incredible! She´s such a fun, hardworking missionary. We saw many tender mercies.  We met this one family, a mom and her two daughters (they were a reference from another area, the mom´s dad is recieving the lessons) and their prayers were so sincere and the 16 year old said in her prayer, ´´I don´t want to go, not even one second, without feeling you´re by my side.´´  And the mom thanked God in her prayers for sending these ´´chicas´´ to her door, to help her to learn more about Him. She was just so grateful. When we thanked her for letting us come by she told us that her door is open to us, because she knows if she rejects us she´s really rejecting God. Ah, it was so cool!

Also we taught this one guy. Hahaha  it was so funny! We quickly met him in his building once but really dont know him, and so i rang his bell and we yelled up and he let us in. He was like, ´´You have three minutes to explain to me about this book.´´ (The book of Mormon) haha so we introduced it and then gave it to him, and he said ´´I gave you three extra minutes, but yeah i´ll read some parts of your book.´´ Haha so our fingers are crossed with that! We´ll pass by again and see what happens!

I love this! Thank you for all your support!

Love, Hermana Miller
